Dj Drama drops some science

"The spin doctor, who's made a name for himself throughout the South with the success of his "Gangsta Grillz" mixtape series also expressed his dislike with what he feels is a lack of originality currently in the mixtape game.
"For the younger DJ's or the ones that may not have the attention that DJ Drama has I would just say keep doing your thing and stop f**kin makin' Lil' Wayne tapes every other day," Drama explained. "I mean, it's not a comment on Wayne. You know Wayne is feeding the people so of course people are definitely interested in him, but from a DJ's perspective it's like by you putting Lil' Wayne on your cover every week and putting out the last songs that he's had out for the last three months, it's not doing anything for you. Young Buck + Trina + Wayne = ??

According to a recent article, Young Buck is admitting that he was involved with Trina during the time she was with Lil' Wayne. Never to be one to hold his tongue for anybody, Buck went on the record to explain it. As you may already know, 50 Cent had a song out where he said,
"When Trina was tellin Wayne, 'I love you, boo'/She was running games, she told Buck that too". Buck says it's the truth.
"It's the truth, it's the f---ing truth! 50 is not f---ing lying," Buck proclaimed. "You want me to tell you the truth? I'mma tell you the truth. I was messing with her while she was messing with [Wayne]. I would hear him on the phone [in the background] every now and then while she's laying right there. She knows it. 50 ain't doing nothing but speaking the truth."

T.I drops the request for Thanksgiving dinner @ request of his attorneys

T.I. has reportedly dropped a request to host a Thanksgiving dinner at his Jonesboro home as he awaits trial on federal weapons charges.
The Associated Press reports that T.I.'s lawyers dropped the request today (Nov. 8) due to the strong opposition from prosecuting attorneys.
Prosecutors said that T.I. wasn’t appreciative of “the generosity of the court granting his release and the gravity of the charges lodged against” him. They also felt the list of 95 names of requested visitors’ T.I. has submitted has been burdensome for court officials to run background checks which are far from complete.

“Fall the fuck back and come speak to us like a man before you go to the internet. Stop being corny. Travis [from Gym Class Heroes] digs Lil' Wayne

Travis: I’m a huge, huge Lil’ Wayne fan and I wanted to do a remix of one of our songs, so I thought let’s get Weezy on and we sent him a song on Friday evening and Wayne sent it back on a Saturday morning completely finished and I was like, “Holy sh*t, this dude’s crazy.”
We’ve spoken to each other a few times, and I met him last year at the MTV VMA’s and then we bumped into each other a few times after and he asked me to be on his new record and I said, “Fo sure.”
I think his record is more eagerly anticipated than both Kanye’s or ‘50s were.
AHHA: So have you heard Lil’ Wayne’s new material for his new album?
Travis: I’ve heard some of it. It’s f**king brilliant. Absolutely f**king brilliant.

Baby "Wayne is bigger than Tupac, Jay, & Biggie"
According to the Miami News, Baby discussed in a move that's rare in the unabashedly arrogant culture of hip-hop, admits he was aware of his flaws. "I felt like I couldn't rap, and I was around these li'l niggas and I felt like they could bag me up with rappin'," he says. "The only thing to do was for me to shine. I felt like I needed to be a jewelry nigga, a car nigga, to stand out from everybody." He and Fresh flaunted mega-mansions and fleets of cars on MTV's celebrity pissing contest, Cribs, but when Fresh departed in 2005, claiming still-unsubstantiated monetary misconduct, once again Birdman was left holding the bag. But to a guy who has consistently proven his skill of making cake out of shit, change is always good.
Speaking on his label, Birdman stated that all big labels met their demise such as Master P's No Limit, Diddy's Badboy and NWA. Cash Money Millionaires were no different. Around 2001, original members BG, Turk, and Juvenile all jumped ship amid allegations of financial mishandling. Birdman was handed the blame. But several years later, it seems there's no love lost on his part.
"I'ma tell ya this here, bebe. Hopefully I'ma put that shit back together," he says. "And I'll do it just to show that you know a nigga ain't trippin'. I'm a hustla, I'm grown, you know. I been doing this. They need a nigga, ya heard me. They out in that world drownin' like a mothafucka, ya heard me."
Speaking on Fresh leaving the label, Baby says, "I think it was a gift and a curse."" The curse is 'cause I never would have wanted it to be like that, 'cause I came up with him. But the gift was once I let the shit go, it gave us an opportunity to start molding our talent," he says. "Now we get to pick what we like and what we think people like."
Since then, "we" has meant Birdman and Lil Wayne, the last original Hot Boy standing. Wayne was never a Lil like Bow Wow or Romeo. He was always a manchild, even at the age of 11, when Birdman took him under his wing. And Birdman insists he always knew Wayne would be a star.
"Wayne never stopped," he explains. "He take it like a professional; he never stop working and that's why he where he is. And besides that, the li'l nigga super gifted, extra-smart, talented like a mothafucka. You know it's possible that they can have another Wayne come out, but what he 'bout to do is a miracle for us to see. We was fortunate to grow up on Tupac, but he died young. This shit Wayne got bigger that. Bigger than Tupac, bigger than Biggie and Jay-Z. It's crazy."
In 1999, when Wayne went on record and told grown men to "separate me from the fake" and that they "better vacate the premises," it seemed he was issuing a call to foes in the street. But looking back, it was clear that Wayne's statement was prophetic and that he was talking to cats in the game right now. Currently his career is unparalleled. Now 13 years in the business without having fizzled out, he boasts a voice that is flooding Top 40 radio stations as well as tracks featuring him alongside Beyoncé and Britney. And he still maintains the underground cred that made him famous.
With the release of his latest album, 5 Star, slated for release December 18, and his contract with Universal up at the end of the year, more changes are undoubtedly on the horizon. But one thing he promises won't change is his presence in the industry. "This is our way of life, so this shit ain't goin' nowhere. We want it so bad, so we gonna go real hard regardless.

Jive's 2 cents on T-Pain

Jive Records has issued a statement explaining the arrest of superstar producer/R&B singer T-Pain.
T-Pain, born Faheem Najm, was stopped driving a Lamborghini Gallardo in June, but his license had been revoked for being a habitual traffic violator, officials reported.
Police issued an arrest warrant on June 15 charging the rapper with a non-moving traffic violation and driving with a suspended license.
"He is a habitual offender," Tallahassee Police Department spokesperson Kathy McGhin said. "This is his third charge."
T-Pain surrendered voluntarily Friday morning (November 2).
"T-Pain was given a few traffic tickets several years ago for minor infractions [a speeding ticket, running a stop sign, failure to pay]" a representative for Jive told AllHipHop.com. "These were mistakes that Pain made as a young man that just received his driver's license. He did not have the money nor the knowledge at the time to take care of them."
Jive shot down reports that T-Pain was arrested and clarified that he voluntarily turned himself in and scheduled his surrender with a local attorney and law enforcement officials.
"There was no bail and he was released on his own recognizance within a few hours…He will not miss any scheduled engagements."
T-Pain is scheduled to play at Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) homecoming tonight (November 3) at the Civic Center from 8-11 PM.
Other artists on the bill include Lil Wayne, Musiq Soulchild, Webbie, and Plies.
